Product Introduction

Methylated beta cyclodextrin is an alkylated derivative of beta cyclodextrin. The hydrogen on C2, C3 and C6 hydroxyl groups of betacyclodextrin can be substituted by methyl. Methyl beta cyclodextrin is not only water-soluble, but also soluble in organic solvents, and has strong drug inclusion ability, so it has attracted attention in the field of pharmaceutical preparations. Methyl beta cyclodextrin does not accumulate in the body and is quickly excreted through the kidney.

Binzhou Zhiyuan biotechnology mainly produces methyl beta cyclodextrin, 2, 6-Dimethyl beta cyclodextrin.

Methyl cyclodextrin have good solubilization and inclusion ability. Their inclusion ability is usually greater than that of hydroxypropyl beta cyclodextrin, which is soluble in water and organic solvents. Therefore, they are widely used in medicine, pesticide, food, cosmetics, daily chemical products, textile dyeing and finishing, chemical industry, chromatographic materials or other materials science.

Production Process

How to product Methyl beta cyclodextrin  :

Methyl beta cyclodextrin was synthesized with dimethyl sulfate as alkylation reagent. Add 2g sodium hydroxide and 30ml deionized water into the flask, then add 10g beta cyclodextrin, and stir to dissolve.

Add 5ml dimethyl sulfate slowly at room temperature, stir at the same time, heat in water bath at about 60 ℃ for 8h, cool down after reaction, adjust to neutral with dilute hydrochloric acid, dilute the solution with appropriate amount of water, and then remove anions and cations in the solution with ion exchange resin (repeat 2-3 times). The collected liquid is distilled under reduced pressure, concentrated to syrup, and slowly dripped with 40ml acetone. The product is dispersed into powdery solid in acetone. The acetone is filtered and vacuum dried to obtain the product.
