Sulfobutyl Ether Bate cyclodextrin is a polyanion, which is a sodium salt of beta cyclodextrin alkylated by 1,4-butanesulfonic acid lactone under alkaline conditions Beta Cyclodextrin derivatives, with negatively charged side chains, have special forces on positively charged drugs. The molecule is in the shape of a truncated cone. The alkyl ether in its internal and side chain can better accommodate hydrophobic drug molecules and form a non covalent complex with drug molecules. Sulfobutyl Ether Bate cyclodextrin has the advantages of increasing drug solubility, improving drug stability and other functions and safety. In addition, because the molecule contains a highly polar sulfonic acid group, the renal reabsorption is small and the excretion is accelerated. It has the advantages of low nephrotoxicity, good water solubility and low hemolysis.
Sulfobutyl Ether B cyclodextrin is widely used in injection drugs, oral drugs, nasal drugs, eye drugs, external use and inhalation administration. It provides a beneficial protective environment for API and is a new pharmaceutical excipient with very broad application prospects.
